Munster Show Officially Launched.

Munster Show officially Launched, Along with Role of honour presentation and Launch of new Munster Show jumping website
On the evening of the 21st of May a large crowd gathered in the Woodlands Hotel, Adare, Limerick to celebrate the official launch of the Munster Show, Role of Honour presentation, and the launch of the new Munster Website. Michael Hennessy was MC on the night and welcomed everyone who travelled from near and far to the event and said a few words on the evening proceedings.

First item on the agenda was the launch of the Munster show, which will takes place on Sunday the 14th of June in Crecora, Limerick on the Lands of Gerard & Carylin Furnell. With a Prize fund of over €7000 euro on offer at the show there assured to be some top class jumping from the region’s best riders, featuring a Leg of the 1.20m FBD Speed series, 1.35m Munster Grand prix, 1.10m Bucas National Ladies League, 1.10m Munster Greyhound league for horses with under 75 points and a 1m Horse Speed Derby and all the usual horse and pony classes for all levels. Tony Hurley National and Munster SJI Chairman spoke on this and he expressed his gratitude to the Landowners, Sponsors and the Organising Committee for the work which has gone in behind the scenes in preparation for the show.
Secondly on the Agenda was the Launch of the new revamped Munster Website which has recently come live www.munstershowjumping.ie or www.sji.ie/munster Michael Hennessy spoke on the benefits of the new and improved website, which will make it easy for people to check up on regional leagues, If it is from Star-lists, Reports and Leader-boards it should be a place for people to keep up to date with what is going on the region and keep people interested.

Third item on the agenda was the Role of honour which first took place two years ago will continue as bi-annual event, Michael said it was great to honour the people in our sport who have put so much into it, and without whom the sport would not be where it is today, each region in Munster nominated two representatives which they felt had contributed immensely to the sport and the development of the organisation over time, the Limerick-Clare Branch had chosen Ivan Mc Donagh and Candy Cusack. The Cork-Kerry branch picked Kate Horgan and Jerry Sweetnam and Waterford-Tipperary decided to go with Joan Keane and Richard Quirke for their dedication the sport over a long number of years. Unfortunately not all of the reciepientents were available for the presentations but each expressed a great gratitude for being selected for this award and made apologies
