FBD Speed series Underway
The first leg of the FBD 1.20M Speed Series got underway at Ballylawn show on Bank holiday Monday, on the lands of Francis Connors, in Kill Co Waterford. 34 Competitors presented before the judges for the first leg of the series, over the Tom Holden Designed track, which saw 24 of the combinations make it through to the second phase against the clock.

It was local man to the venue Paddy O Donnell who claimed victory in the opening leg of the series aboard Thomas Power’s 9-year-old mare Harristown Gold, they broke the beam in a time 25.73 to secure victory

Coming in to grab the runner-up slot was Francis Connors riding Hugh Fitzpatrick’s Erne Luxetta crossing the line in 28.46, taking the third spot was Tallow man Paul Beecher, riding Tim Beecher’s Loughnatousa Zidane who crossed the line in 28.85, the fourth spot was claimed by local man Neilus O Donoghue riding his own Pottery’s Field, with Tadgh Beecher riding Loughnatousa Miguel claiming fifth, with young rider Patrick Joyce completing the line-up.

Action in the FBD 1.20m Speed series moves down to the Kingdom County Show Sunday the 8th of May before coming back to Co Waterford for the Aglish Charity Gymkhana the following Sunday
